WINTER SONGS/FINGERPLAYS
I BUILT A LITTLE SNOWMAN
I built a little snowman (make circle with hands)
He had a carrot nose (point to nose)
Along came a bunny (hold up first two fingers, slightly bent)
And what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny (make bunny again)
Looking for his lunch (hop bunny around)
Ate the snowman’s nose (pretend bunny is eating nose)
Nibble! Nibble! Crunch! (Pretend to be eating a carrot)
MR. CLOUD (to the tune of Mr. Sun)
Oh, Mr. Cloud, cloud
Mr. Fluffy Cloud
Please snow down on me!
Oh, Mr. Cloud, Cloud
Mr. Fluffy Cloud
Snow is what I want to see!
These little children are asking you
To send some snow. Oh, please, won’t you?
Oh, Mr. Cloud, Cloud
Mr. Fluffy Cloud
Please snow down on
Please snow down on
Please snow down on me!
SNOW IS FALLING ALL AROUND (to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)
Snow is falling all around,
Falling, falling, to the ground.
I catch snowflakes on my tongue.
Building snowmen is such fun.
Snow is falling all around
Falling, falling, to the ground.
SNOWY POKEY
You put your right mitten in, You take your right mitten out,
You put your right mitten in and you shake it all about.
You do the Snowy Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
Additional Verses:
You put your left mitten in
You put your scarf in
You put your right boot in
You put your left boot in
You put your hatin
You put your snowself in…
FIVE LITTLE SNOWMEN
Five little snowmen on a winter’s day
The first one said, “Wake up, so we can play”
The second one said, “Let’s stomp on the ground.”
The third one said, “Let’s roll around.”
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”
The fifth one said, “I’m afraid I feel the sun.”
“Oh Dear,” cried the snowmen, as they looked toward the sky.
And the five melting snowmen waved a fond goodbye.
